Bella is a Dental Assistant who is the newest addition to Team Sherwood, and we are thrilled to have her. She is new to the field and passionate about learning and growing in the world of dentistry. She brings a positive attitude and curiosity every day at work. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time in nature, trying different foods and listening to all types of music. She also has a sweet tooth and loves trying new desserts whenever she gets the chance. Laura is a Registered Dental Assistant who joined Team Sherwood in early 2026, bringing with her over six years of experience in the dental field dating back to 2019. Her journey into dentistry began at Pasadena City College, where she discovered her passion for the profession and built the foundation that launched her career. Above all, Laura is deeply committed to patient care. She believes every person who walks through the door deserves to feel comfortable, welcomed, and right at home. Her warm, people-first approach is at the heart of everything she does. When she’s not caring for patients, Laura loves unwinding with staycations alongside her boyfriend Chris — and you can almost always find her golden doodle, Mac, tagging along for the adventure. Ally joined Team Sherwood in 2011 after deciding to make a career change and she has become a phenomenal dental assistant and a large part of the success in both the front and back office of Team Sherwood. Ally is a super sweet, bright light in the office and loves to laugh and see patients smile. Ally is always sure to have all things “insurance” under control for the patients and contributes to the smooth flow of the office. When not at work, Ally enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, and their “paw child” Winnie (the cutest Frenchie you’ve ever seen). Courtney has been a member of Team Sherwood since 2006. An energetic and knowledgeable lady, Courtney does a thorough job as Office Manager handling insurance and patient relations issues and does it all with a smile. She enjoys helping each patient work within their insurance benefits plan and budget to achieve his or her dental goals. Courtney also manages all Sherwood Family Dentistry’s social media platforms and you can follow our practice on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM. Courtney is your All American Cowgirl and when she’s not at the office you can likely find her on the back of a horse, or else she is on the soccer field and dance studio with daughter, Cade or the fields with her son, Colt. She currently works in the office part time and thrives on doing it all – balancing work, family and friends and her love of riding horses.
The second half of the Sherwood Family Dentistry Duo is Dr. Erma Craw, who is also passionate about her career in dentistry. Dr. Craw was an honor student and “band geek” in high school and later earned two bachelor degrees in biology and psychology from the University of California, Irvine. After taking a brief break from college, Dr. Craw decided to go back to school to attend the USC Dental Program and was honored the year she was elected by her classmates to be class president. While in school, she applied all that she was learning in classes to her job working as student staff at the Children’s Mobile Dental Clinic. It was there where she met her classmate and future business partner Dr. Chao. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.
Dr. Chao is one half of the talented and compassionate dental duo that makes up Sherwood Family Dentistry. After nearly two decades of working in the dental industry, Dr. Chao still gets a thrill when he helps a patient obtain the perfect smile. His career originally started out on a different path. Dr. Chao graduated with a degree in accounting from the University at Southern California (USC) but found out rather quickly that it was not for him and went back to USC to complete the Dental Program. When he was the only one of 120 students in dental morphology class who could guess the name of the famous person whose smile was projected on the screen (Princess Diana), he knew he had found his true calling and has been passionate about dentistry ever since.
